Apple Releases iOS 13.7 Surprise Update with Covid-19 Upgrade

Wow what a month! First, we have the announcement of the iPhone XS Max, the largest phone Apple has ever made, with a 6.5-inch OLED screen. It also comes with the biggest price tag for the iPhone XS series, at $1,100. Then there’s the iPhone XS, the smaller of the two. As expected, it doesn’t have the new 3D Face Recognition feature that Apple announced last year during the iPhone X launch.

Today’s Apple update, iOS 13.7, is the first major update to iOS 13, which was released on September 19, 2018. The update adds a few new features, but it mostly serves as a platform for Apple to showcase the new features from iOS 13 that were announced at the Worldwide Developer’s Conference (WWDC) this spring. In particular, the update adds support for the augmented reality features from iOS 13, which were announced during the keynote address at WWDC.

We are far enough into 2018 that you’d think at some point Apple would start to release new updates for iOS. After all, it’s been four months since iOS 13, which brought a redesigned App Store, better iPhone camera features and a new gesture to zoom in on photos using 3D Touch. But just when you figure there will be an iOS, Apple surprised the world by releasing a surprise update.

It seems that iOS 13 updates will never stop. The latest and greatest iOS 13 update is great and has a special place on your phone. Apple’s 13.7 updates are meant to fix the current situation. The update relates to the current global pandemic Covid-19.

The Covid 19 update has something special, it allows the app to run in the background and take notes on the go. It records information about the people around you. If anyone on the highlighted list tests positive for a virus in the future, you will receive a notification on your phone. It’s amazing and a first in technology.

You can do this by going to Settings on your iPhone and then General. In the General section, click Software Update, and then click Download and Install. The application works on both iPhone and iPad.
